BRAND: BAUKJEN
I recently got some amazing leather trousers from a brand called Baukjen. Baukjen has only recently come up on my radar but they have really great basics, leather, shirts and cashmere. (They also have great Sales too).
Baukjen was founded by the same people who launched maternity brand Isabella Oliver - who are renowned for their great quality, simple maternity clothes.
Because i didn't know much about Baukjen the brand (and i like to know about my brands) i thought i'd ask them. This is what they told me:

DATE IT WAS FOUNDED: 2009
BY WHOM IT WAS FOUNDED: Baukjen De Swaan Arons, the creative brains behind maternity line Isabella Oliver
WHY WAS IT CREATED: After realising during her own pregnancy that there was a real lack of quality maternity wear, Baukjen De Swaan Arons founded maternity line Isabella Oliver in 2003 and soon became the darling brand of pregnant A Listers from J Lo to K Middy. In 2009 they added ready-to-wear under the name Isabella Oliver 365, and then in 2012 decided to re-brand the label under the name “Baukjen”. (they could see the potential of Isabella Oliver 365 as there had been a real appetite for the collection, but the name automatically associated it with maternity clothing and we recognised this as a stumbling block in the future).Today, both brands are looked after by one team and Baukjen has carved its own signature style, while staying true to the premium quality associated with the IO maternity line.
WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BRAND: We’re about the basics done well; the wardrobe classics with a contemporary twist. One thing our customers always feedback is that they feel ‘done’ when they wear our clothes. We’re not about faddy fashion but more about being able to throw together an outfit and always feel stylish whether you’re in the office or in the playground.
WHAT WE SHOULD BUY FROM YOU: Our leather is a big hit - leather is always a real investment buy, and so we make sure ours is of the best quality- it’s 100% buttery soft and last a lifetime. Our jersey dresses are hugely popular due to their double lining (designed to ‘hold you in’ rather than cling) and ease of wear- they work really well for the office or a job interview. We’ve also nailed relaxed weekend vibes; one of our printed shirts works well with super soft joggers or jeans, and can be updated with leather trousers for the evening.
