BRAND: CADENCE LONDON

Cadence London Jewellry is unique and timeless, it is personal and symbolic. The pieces are all made in the UK using a combination of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship.

Inspired by her time as a dancer and yoga teacher Cadence has created jewellry that is symbolic of the body and that represents the respect she has for it. The pieces aim to inspire and empower the wearer, to remind them to reflect on the wonder of life's radiance, joy, and strength and to reflect on the beauty and power they have within.

Cadence London jewellery pays homage to your own history, spirit and desires - each piece is a talisman of strength sending a quiet message of inspiration throughout the day - I have a vertebrae necklace for integrity and strength.

Here is what the artist, mother and creator Cadence would like us to know about her beautiful brand:

NAME OF BRAND: Cadence London

DATE IT WAS FOUNDED: Autumn 2014

BY WHOM IT WAS FOUNDED: Cadence Pearson Lane

WHY WAS IT CREATED: Cadence London jewellery was born out of my desire to create unique timeless treasures that speak to the heart and in turn inspire and empower.

The collection is inspired by my 20 year history as a dancer and yoga instructor, which made me fascinated, and in awe of, the beauty of the human form and the symbolism housed within it. The mind body connection in Eastern philosophy and healing has always resonated close to my heart. In reading the book Anatomy of the Spirit, I became utterly intrigued by the concept that our biography becomes our biology. Our emotions lodge themselves physiologically in our bodies and the story created is often quite archetypal. I chose the spine as inspiration for the first collection as, to me, it is a metaphor for life. The vertebrae fit together in a magical way that act as our scaffold and strength, yet they bend and twist to life’s demands and protect within them the sensitive spinal cord which connects mind to body.

Alongside of this, I am a believer in the power of energy and good luck charms and since I was little have made symbolic gifts for friends. Shortly before I had my two daughters I was also a practicing artist exploring concepts of women and identity. I am drawn to the way fine jewellery seems to have a personal story that is carried along with it. . . the pieces women wear day in and day out whisper a story, a personal history. I wanted to honour this concept and take it one step further, by imbuing the jewellery with a subtle inherent meaning.

In creating Cadence London jewellery I hoped to weave together all these strands into a heartfelt and meaningful business to uplift and embolden women. Each piece in the collection can act as a personal talisman, sending forth a quiet message of inspiration. A reminder to reflect on the wonder of life and think not about the stresses that come from without, but about the radiance, joy, strength, and healing that come from within.

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BRAND: We make beautiful talismans to remind women to reflect on the beauty and power they have within.

Fine jewellery inspired by mysticism, philosophy and the beauty of the human form, each piece is a symbol of strength sending forth a quiet message to:

Live your truth and believe in you. Find your inner warrior and have a backbone. Trust your softness and have a heart. Breathe to your own rhythm and always be you. . . pure and simple!

We invite you on our journey towards truth, joy, strength, and equanimity.

WHAT WE SHOULD BUY FROM YOU: Any piece that resonates a note of inspiration: a heart for truth or belief, a vertebra for integrity and strength, or a word to motivate.

BRAND: ILADO Paris

Inspired by the magic of ancestral jewellery Ilado Paris's pieces are meaningful, symbolic, simple and stunning.  Designed and made by talented and passionate designers and artisans from France and around the world, their first collection of pregnancy necklaces are a unique, contemporary interpretation of an ancestral Mayan tradition.

Ilado was founded by two childhood friends (and mothers) in Paris who left their jobs to follow their passion and desire to create simple beauty amongst the chaos of modern life.  Here is what they'd like us to know about their brand and beautiful jewellery:

NAME OF BRAND/COMPANY: ILADO Paris

DATE IT WAS FOUNDED: March 2015

BY WHOM IT WAS FOUNDED: We are Celia Bonahon and Sandra Zeller, 2 childhood friends and young mothers based in Paris. Originally, ILADO was the name of an African peninsula where our friendship began when we were 10. In 2015, 20 years later, fascinated by the meaningful beauty and the magic of ancestral jewellery, and inspired by our own search for meaning and harmony in the hectic pace of our lives as young mothers in Paris, we left our jobs as fashion buyer and marketing director to create ILADO Paris!

WHY WAS IT CREATED: ILADO Paris offers “Jewellery for the Soul”. In today’s world, where the loss of meaning and the stress of our fast-paced modern lives take us away from ourselves and from what is essential, we imagine jewellery that you wear to feel good, to express who you are, to inspire you every day. We capture jewellery, beyond its beauty, to its deeper meaning, by connecting with its magical and spiritual essence celebrated for thousands of years around the world. In our industrial cultures where most objects look all the same, we look for talented and passionate designers and artisans from France and around the world, to perpetuate the beauty of traditional know-how at the heart of contemporary creations, that are unlike any other.

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BRAND: Our first collection of Angel Caller jewellery offers the first contemporary interpretation of an ancestral pendant that has been celebrated for centuries in many cultures, from Indonesia to Mexico. It contains a silver ball that emits a subtle and harmonious chime when shaken. Legend has it that this sweet jingling sound, that is unique for each pendant, is magic: it has the power to call the wearer's Guardian Angel. In Mayan culture, it was worn during pregnancy to protect expectant mothers and their babies. After birth, the familiar soothing sound will reassure and calm the baby, as a reminder of the warmth and comfort of the womb and the invisible presence of its mother.

WHAT WE SHOULD BUY FROM YOU: All our Angel Caller necklaces are beautiful gifts for mums-to-be or for your loved ones! Our favourite one is the U Angel Caller necklace with its minimalist and elegant contemporary design and its adjustable length chain. Our chiming pendants are unique pieces, handmade by a craftsman in Taxco, Mexico, in the greatest respect for tradition. They are then gilded with fine gold and suspended at the end of precious necklaces by a French or Italian manufacturer. Our creations are carefully packaged in a joyful cotton pouches that comes in a protective box made of recycled materials.

(ANOTHER) DENIM DRESS

You can probably tell that i love a denim dress - and here is my latest one!  It’s pretty thick denim and so could also be worn open as a jacket, or while its not freezing without a jacket over it as a dress and when it gets colder with tights, a chunky knit cardigan and a woolly hat.

I'm also wearing my new Clarks silver boots - like Mum dressing some brands can get a bad rep, i think this is true of Clarks.  Clarks has some super cool, good quality shoes but people dismiss it as a brand without having a proper look.  My boots are part of the Clarks & V&A Collaboration  which is a collection of shoes and boots inspired by different decades in fashion history.

TOPSHOP £60 / CLARKS £12O

To breastfeed i would wear a long vest (like this H&M one) underneath or a lycra dress - i'd unbutton the dress and pull up or down the vest.

I've got red lipstick on and gold hoop earrings on to.

SILVER SHOES

I have a massive love of metallic shoes - silver, gold, bronze, rose gold and every metallic in between.  One of the main reasons i like them is because i think metallic is a neutral it goes with more or less everything plus i love shinny things.

In the winter i have some metallic grey loafers and in the summer i have a collection of sandals and sliders.  Here are a few silver ones that i have my eye on at the moment:

Birkenstock £69 / & Other Stories £55 / Kurt Geiger £75 / Solillas £49
